Your Moving Questions, Answered

Honest, practical answers to help you plan a smoother move — no surprises, no jargon.

What's the best time of year to move in terms of cost?

Late fall through early spring (October to March) typically offers lower rates and better availability. Summer weekends book up fastest and often carry premium pricing.

Can I add extra stops on moving day?

Yes, but additional stops increase the total time and mileage. Tell your coordinator about every stop when you book so we can adjust the estimate and schedule accordingly.

How do you protect hardwood floors and carpets?

We lay down heavy-duty floor runners and corner guards at every entry point. Our crews also wear boot covers inside your home unless you tell us otherwise.

What if my elevator isn't working on moving day?

Call us immediately. If stairs are the only option, we will need to reassess timing and crew size. For high-rise buildings, we always verify elevator booking rules in advance.

Do you move items from a storage unit?

Absolutely. We can meet you at any storage facility, load your unit, and transport everything to your new address. Just provide the unit size and access details during booking.

How early should I start packing before the movers arrive?

We recommend finishing packing two full days before moving day. This gives you time to label boxes correctly and set aside fragile or high-value items you want to move yourself.

Can you handle last-minute moves scheduled for tomorrow?

Often yes. Call our dispatch team directly. We reserve a portion of our fleet for urgent moves, but availability depends on crew schedules and truck size.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made at least 72 hours before your scheduled time receive a full refund of any deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours may forfeit a partial fee depending on crew assignment.

Do you move firearms or ammunition?

We can move unloaded, locked firearms in a hard case, but we cannot transport ammunition of any kind. You must declare firearms in writing before moving day.

How do you handle moves during heavy rain or snow?

We use weather-protected tarps, sealed plastic bins, and walk-off mats at every doorway. If conditions create safety risks, we may delay the start time by a few hours until roads clear.

What size trucks do you use for local moves?

Our fleet includes 16-foot, 20-foot, and 26-foot box trucks. A 16-foot truck fits a one-bedroom apartment, while a 26-foot truck handles a three- to four-bedroom house.

Can you move a hot tub or large safe?

Yes, but these require a specialized crew with hydraulic dollies and extra padding. Let us know at least one week ahead so we can assign the right equipment and team.

Do you offer packing services if I don't have time?

We do. Our packing team can wrap, box, and label your entire home or just specific rooms. Packing is billed separately at an hourly rate, and materials are additional.

What happens if my new home isn't ready on move-in day?

We can hold your belongings in our secure warehouse for up to seven days at a daily storage rate. After seven days, monthly rates apply. We also offer delivery in multiple loads.

How do you handle moves with narrow staircases or tight hallways?

Our crews carry sectional moving equipment that can break down large furniture. We measure tight spaces during your in-home or video survey and plan disassembly in advance.

Can you move a vehicle like a car or motorcycle?

We do not transport personal vehicles on our moving trucks, but we partner with licensed auto shippers. Ask your coordinator for a separate vehicle transport quote.

What identification do I need to provide on moving day?

We require a government-issued photo ID and either your lease agreement or proof of home purchase for the new address. This helps prevent fraud and unauthorized moves.

Do you charge extra for moving on weekends or holidays?

Weekend rates are typically the same as weekdays, but holiday moves (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving week, and Christmas week) carry a 15–20% surcharge due to limited crew availability.

How do you handle items that won't fit through the door?

We assess this during your walkthrough. Solutions include partial disassembly, using a loading dock, removing the door from its hinges, or sending items through a window with a crane lift for large furniture.

Can you move a grand piano down multiple flights of stairs?

Yes, but this requires a four- to six-person specialty crew with piano boards and straps. We always conduct a site survey first and may recommend hiring a piano-only specialist for very narrow stairwells.

What is your policy on tips for the moving crew?

Tipping is never required but always appreciated. The industry standard is $20–$40 per mover for a full day’s work, or 5–10% of the total move cost split among the team.

Do you provide same-day binding estimates?

For local moves under 50 miles, yes — we can give you a binding not-to-exceed estimate after a quick video walkthrough. Long-distance estimates require weight and mileage calculations and take up to 24 hours.

Can you move items from a business after hours?

Yes. We offer after-hours (6 PM to 6 AM) and weekend commercial moving at the same hourly rate. Building security and elevator access must be arranged by you in advance.

What happens to my mail forwarding and utilities during a move?

We don’t manage those, but every customer receives a free digital checklist after booking that includes links to USPS change-of-address forms and utility transfer contacts for West Palm Beach, Florida.
