Welcome to https://homesafetransit.com (the “Site”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) create a legally binding agreement between you and Homesafe Transit (“we,” “our,” or “us”) regarding your access to the Site and our moving and related services (“Services”). By using the Site or requesting our Services, you confirm that you accept these Terms.
1. Site Usage Rules
You must be 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into contracts to use the Site or our Services.
Whenever you request a quote, make a reservation, or fill out any form, you promise to provide information that is truthful, up‑to‑date, and complete. If you have any account credentials associated with our Site, you are responsible for keeping them confidential and for any activity conducted through your account.
We may refuse service, suspend your access, or cancel a booking if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or misused the Site or our Services.
2. Quotes, Estimates, and Reservations
Any quote or estimate we provide is based exclusively on the information you share — including your inventory, access conditions at your locations, distances, and any special needs.
Quotes are not final guarantees. If the actual move conditions differ from what you told us (for example, more items, difficult access, or extra stairs), we may adjust the price to reflect the real work performed.
Some bookings may require a deposit or payment authorization. Payment terms, cancellation deadlines, and any specific conditions will be clearly stated in your confirmation documents. You should carefully review every detail in your estimate and confirmation, and let us know immediately if anything appears incorrect or has changed.
3. What You Are Responsible For
As a customer, you agree to:
- Have your belongings properly packed and ready to move, unless you have specifically purchased our packing service.
- Make sure we have safe, clear access to both the pickup and drop‑off locations — including working elevators, parking spaces, stairways, and any required building permissions or certificates of insurance.
- Tell us ahead of time about any fragile, high‑value, oversized, or unusual items that need special care.
- Follow all laws, regulations, and building rules that apply to your move.
- Confirm that you either own the items being moved or have written permission from the owner to transport them.
4. Items We Cannot Move
We reserve the right to decline transporting certain types of items, including but not limited to:
- Anything hazardous, flammable, explosive, or chemically dangerous
- Illegal substances or goods prohibited by law
- Perishable food, live plants, or animals (unless we have given written approval beforehand)
If you include any prohibited items without telling us in advance, you will be fully responsible for any damage, fines, penalties, or cleanup costs that result.
5. How and When You Pay
Your estimate or booking confirmation will specify the payment terms. Typically, we require a deposit before the move, with the remaining balance due on completion of the service.
We may add extra charges for any services or conditions not included in your original quote — for example, additional labor, extra stops, waiting time, long or stair carries, or a last‑minute change to your inventory.
If you fail to pay on time, we may charge late fees and, where the law allows, hold your goods until the full amount is paid.
6. Cancellations and Date Changes
Cancellations and rescheduling requests are subject to the notice periods and fees explained in your estimate, confirmation, or our published cancellation policy.
If you cancel on very short notice, you may lose your deposit or be charged additional fees to cover the costs we have already incurred.
We may need to cancel or postpone your move due to events beyond our reasonable control — such as severe weather, unsafe conditions, or unexpected truck breakdowns. In that situation, we will contact you as soon as possible and work together to find a new date that works for you.
7. Our Responsibility for Loss or Damage
Our liability for lost or damaged goods is limited as allowed by applicable law and any specific terms in your estimate or bill of lading.
When your items are delivered, you should inspect them right away and note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork. For hidden damage that you discover later, you must notify us in writing within the timeframe listed in your move documents.
The amount we can be held responsible for depends on the valuation option you select. You may purchase additional protection for an extra fee. We are not liable for damage caused by events outside our control — including natural disasters, extreme weather, or pre‑existing wear and tear on your belongings.
8. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost business opportunities.
- Our total liability under these Terms or for any Service cannot exceed the amount you actually paid to Homesafe Transit for the specific move or service that caused the issue.
Nothing in this section eliminates or reduces liability that cannot be limited or waived under applicable law.
